New Luxury Hotel Openings in Florence (2026 to 2027)
Updated: 11 hours ago
Updated October 2026
Florence is in the middle of a luxury hotel boom. Historic palazzi, convents and hillside villas are opening as hotels at a pace I have not seen before, and some big international names are arriving for the first time.
This is my tracker of the new and upcoming luxury openings. Every entry has a source link so you can check it yourself, and I update the page as dates move. Opening dates in Florence slip often, so treat anything marked as planned as a guide, not a promise. I have not stayed in these new hotels yet, so I describe what to expect, not a review.

The Westin Excelsior on Piazza Ognissanti became The Excelsior, a Luxury Collection Hotel, in July 2025. Same palazzo on the Arno, new name. If an older guide sends you to the Westin, this is the hotel.
How I would use this list
A brand new hotel can be a joy: fresh rooms, eager teams and introductory energy. It can also mean small opening wrinkles. If your trip is in the first months after an opening, I would look at the hotel's own updates before you commit, and keep a classic as a backup.
