Current Exhibitions in Florence: What I'd See Now
Updated October 2026
Florence has one of the strongest exhibition seasons I can remember this autumn and winter. Here are the current exhibitions in Florence that I think are worth your time, with the venue and dates for each. I update this list as shows open and close.
Dates come from each museum's official site. Check the official site for tickets and opening hours before you go.

Palazzo Strozzi: Broken
Broken. Il potere del frammento is the big autumn show at Palazzo Strozzi, organized with the National Gallery of Art in Washington. It explores the power of the fragment in art, and the courtyard has an installation by the Dutch artist Mark Manders. It runs from 25 September 2026 to 24 January 2027, open daily from 10:00 to 20:00, and until 23:00 on Thursdays. I like the Thursday late opening for a quieter visit.
Museo Novecento: Victor Man and Danielle Mckinney
The Museo Novecento, Florence's museum of 20th and 21st century art, is on Piazza Santa Maria Novella and open daily from 11:00 to 20:00. Two shows run this season.
Victor Man, about 25 paintings by the Romanian painter, from 26 September 2026 to 7 March 2027.
Tra noi, 20 works by the American painter Danielle Mckinney, from 17 October 2026 to 28 February 2027.

Museo degli Innocenti: Artemisia Gentileschi
Artemisia Gentileschi a Firenze focuses on Artemisia and Florence. It is at the Museo degli Innocenti on Piazza della Santissima Annunziata, open from 21 October 2026 to 4 April 2027, daily from 9:30 to 19:00. If you love her work, pair it with my guide to Florence's Renaissance masters.

Palazzo Medici Riccardi: Oltre il Rinascimento
Oltre il Rinascimento. Tra Dürer e Parmigianino brings together works from the collection of the German artist Georg Baselitz, at Palazzo Medici Riccardi on Via Cavour until 5 January 2027.
Uffizi Galleries: Palazzo Pitti
At Palazzo Pitti, the Museo della Moda e del Costume has a new layout with 40 twentieth century dresses, plus an exhibition on the fashion house Sarmi until 31 December 2026. From 3 December 2026 to 1 March 2027, Magnifico 1492 opens in the Treasury of the Grand Dukes, named for 1492, the year Lorenzo the Magnificent died. Plan your visit with my Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens guide.

The 1966 flood anniversary exhibitions
For the 60th anniversary of the 1966 flood, Forme del Fango runs at the Accademia di Belle Arti from 4 to 20 November, and RI EMERGERE at the Archivio di Stato from 4 November 2026 to 6 February 2027. I list the rest in my 1966 flood anniversary guide.
