Best Hotel Restaurants and Bars in Florence 2026

Updated October 2026

Some of the best tables and bars in Florence are inside hotels. You do not need to be a guest to book them, and they often give you something the city's trattorias cannot: a garden, a river balcony, a rooftop with the dome in front of you.

Here are the hotel restaurants and bars I point friends to, split into fine dining, casual and elegant dining, and bars and rooftops. Michelin stars are from the 2026 Michelin Guide. Where I have not eaten, I tell you what to expect rather than pretend I have. Always check opening days and book ahead.

Michelin-starred hotel restaurants

Santa Elisabetta, Brunelleschi Hotel

Two Michelin stars. Chef Rocco De Santis cooks for just a handful of tables inside the Pagliazza, one of the oldest towers in Florence. Expect an intimate, focused tasting experience. It suits a milestone dinner. Source: Destination Florence.

Il Palagio, Four Seasons Hotel Firenze

One Michelin star. Chef Paolo Lavezzi's restaurant sits inside the Four Seasons, beside the Giardino della Gherardesca. It suits couples and anyone who wants refined Tuscan flavors in a calm setting.

Borgo San Jacopo, Hotel Lungarno

One Michelin star. Chef Claudio Mengoni's kitchen is right on the Arno in the Oltrarno, and two tables sit on a small balcony over the river facing the Ponte Vecchio. Ask for one when you book, and book early.

Luca's by Paulo Airaudo, La Gemma

One Michelin star, new for 2026. Paulo Airaudo's restaurant inside the La Gemma hotel. Expect a modern tasting menu.

Atto di Vito Mollica, Palazzo Portinari Salviati

One Michelin star. Vito Mollica's restaurant is inside a Renaissance palazzo on Via del Corso, the former home of the Portinari family.

Serrae, Villa Fiesole

One Michelin star. Up in Fiesole, with views toward the Medici villa and the hills. A lovely choice if you are staying in the hills or want an evening above the city.

Elegant hotel dining without the tasting menu

Winter Garden, The St. Regis Florence

Contemporary Tuscan dining under a glass roof at Piazza Ognissanti 1. It is listed in the Michelin Guide but does not hold a star. The bar is known for aperitivo and its evening champagne sabering.

Irene, Hotel Savoy

Seasonal Tuscan cooking at Piazza della Repubblica 7, from breakfast to dinner, with a terrace on the piazza. A great choice for lunch in the center.

B-Roof, Grand Hotel Baglioni

A rooftop restaurant near Santa Maria Novella with terraces and a 360-degree view to the dome. The terrace is seasonal, so check before you go.

Hotel bars and rooftops

Florence's hotel bars are where I go for aperitivo with a view. A few of my picks, with the season they work best:

Divina Terrazza, Grand Hotel Cavour

Open all year with a covered section, with views over the rooftops to the Duomo. My winter rooftop pick.

Angel Roofbar, Hotel Calimala

A relaxed rooftop in the heart of the center, good for an early evening drink.

Empireo, Plaza Hotel Lucchesi

A summer rooftop with a pool on the Lungarno near Santa Croce, looking over the river and the hills.

Cosimo Rooftop, The Excelsior

On Piazza Ognissanti, looking along the Arno toward the bridges and the hills.

Fusion Bar, Gallery Hotel Art

An intimate, Japanese-inspired bar a few steps from the Ponte Vecchio, with cocktails and international plates. As of October 2026 it is closed for a break, so check the Lungarno Collection site before you go.

La Loggia at Palazzo Guadagni

The open loggia at the top of the hotel on Piazza Santo Spirito, perfect for a drink above the square.

My tips for hotel dining in Florence

The Arno at blue hour with city lights reflected under the Ponte Vecchio, Florence
  • Book the starred tables weeks ahead in spring and autumn, and ask about balcony, garden or window tables when you book.

  • Rooftops are often seasonal. In winter, choose a covered terrace like Divina Terrazza.

  • Aperitivo starts around 7 pm. For sunset, arrive a little earlier and ask for a seat facing west.

  • Dress smart casual for the bars and a notch up for the starred dining rooms.
